Macular Degeneration
|
|

Age Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD) is the leading cause of severe vision loss in the elderly. Untreatable vision loss causes more disability in older adults than nearly any other medical condition. By age 75, 10% of Americans are so handicapped that they can't read the newspaper, or drive a car… even with glasses. But, ARMD rarely leads to blindness because it only affects central vision; side vision usually remains intact.
