Dr. Lau was born in New York City and completed his undergraduate degree at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He then entered the School of Medicine at Georgetown and received his Medical Doctor degree in 1978. Dr. Lau remained in Washington, D.C. and conducted his residency in Ophthalmology at Georgetown University Hospital from 1978 to 1982. A board certified ophthalmologist, he has been in Springfield, Urbana and London for over 15 years as well as Bellefontaine for 11 years. He has instructed courses on cataract surgery techniques and has performed numerous cataract surgeries using modern techniques. Dr. Lau is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, Fellow of American Academy of Ophthalmology, Ohio State Medical Association, Clark County Medical Society, Dayton Ophthalmological Society, and Fellow of the American Academy of Surgeons. Dr. Lau has also done missionary eye care work in Honduras and Haiti and is devoted to improving eye care health in patients here in Ohio and worldwide. |

Dr. Larry A. Fish, M.D., Ph.D. |

Dr. Larry Fish specializes in laser refractive surgery, diseases and surgery of the cornea, and small incision cataract surgery. A native of Cambridge, Ohio, Dr. Fish obtained his undergraduate and medical school degrees from Ohio State University. Dr. Fish did his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Southern California Doheny Eye Institute. Following this three-year program, Dr. Fish took a fellowship in corneal and refractive surgery under the guidance of Drs. Herbert Kaufman and Marguerite MacDonald at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. It was at this time in New Orleans that clinical examinations in the use of the excimer laser began on human eyes. Dr. Fish was a member of the team that performed the first human excimer treatments in 1989-1990. These early studies, carried out under the guidelines established by the FDA, provided the intial data which showed that the excimer laser was safe and effective for treatment of refractive eye disorders (myopia, astigmatism, and hyperopia). Dr. Fish has extensive refractive surgery experience with the excimer laser, including LASIK and PRK. Dr. Fish also provides expert treatment for medical and surgical diseases of the cornea. Utilizing the latest technology, Dr. Fish performs no stitch small incision cataract surgery. Dr. Fish is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, the Ohio State Opthalmological Society and the Clark County Medical Society. |
