Dr. Bloom has been associated with Greater Ohio Eye Surgeons for five years. He takes appointments in Springfield on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 8:00AM to Noon. His remaining hours are spent at Childrens Medical Center, Dayton, Ohio.
Dr. Bloom earned his medical degree at Ohio State University where he also served his residency in ophthalmology. He completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the University of Kentucky.
Dr. Bloom specializes in eye motility disorders in children and adults and is also trained to diagnose and treat both common and rare eye problems in children. Dr. Bloom brings to G.O.E.S. an outstanding background in surgical techniques to treat ocular trauma, pediatric cataracts, and lacrimal duct disorders. He is also skilled in medical and surgical techniques to treat pediatric glaucoma and adult double vision.
In addition to his clinical interests, Dr. Bloom has published numerous scientific papers on laser applications in ophthalmology and conducted corneal research with Richard Keates, M.D., for two years during medical school.
